Sam's Soccer Referees

General Information
- You must be USSF certified for 2017 to be assigned games.
- Referees should have both a yellow and black jersey and wear their 2017 patch for all games.
- The first weekend of games is April 1/2.
- The CSC Classic tournament is June 3/4.
- No games on Easter, April 16

- Until the full access code is entered you will see “Invalid” on the form.
- Availability should be submitted by Sunday night for the following weekend's games.
- Do not submit your availability more than 1 week in advance unless you are 100% sure of your schedule.
- If your availability changes after you submit it, you may submit it again unless it is past Sunday; then send me an email.
- Once the first draft of the schedule is sent out with available positions, I only assign open games to those that respond to the email.
- If you submit availability to multiple assignors, please do not overlap your availability.  If you decline a game that I assign
you so that you can accept a game from another assignor, you may not be assigned any CSC games for the next week.

Game Reports
- Until the full access code is entered you will see “Invalid” on the form.
- Game reports must be submitted by CRs by Sunday night for all Saturday/Sunday games.  ARs should not be submitting game reports.
    -   You may not be assigned to new games if you have missing game reports.
- In the note section of the Game Report please indicate if assigned shadow referees were present.
Also, include any feedback that you have about shadows or ARs.
- If you show up to ref a game and the game is cancelled because of weather or a no-show team, enter a game report.
- Always check the CSC website for field closures before leaving for your assigned game(s).  If fields are closed for weather before
you leave for the game, you will not be paid for the game(s).  If the fields are closed for the day after you arrive, you will
only be paid for the first game that was cancelled.

Referee Schedules / Assignments
- Referees are assigned to games based on their availability, age, experience, assignment preferences and feedback that I receive from
the referee mentor and senior referees.
- Most weeks the first draft of the referee schedule should be available by Wednesday.
- When assigning games, referees that submit their availability by Sunday are assigned games first.   Referees that submit their
availability after Sunday are assigned to the remaining open games.
- When I send out an email blast looking for referees, games are assigned to the first referees that respond and are qualified.
I will only send responses to those that are assigned games – usually within 24 hours.
The referee schedule can be checked to see if games have been filled.
- If you do not show up for a game, show up late or cancel at the last minute you may not be assigned any games for the next week.
- The number of games assigned to each referee will vary week to week depending on the number of games being played, the number
of referees available, when referees are available and referees game preferences.  Typically, experienced referees are
assigned 2-3 games and less experienced referees are assigned 1-2 games.
- To ref travel and academy games, you should have at least 1 year of experience.
- If you are assigned as a CR and you are a relative of a player, coach, or volunteer on a team, it is your responsibility to
notify me so that the game can be reassigned.

New Referees (under 18)
- All new referees must complete their shadow requirements (one U8 CR shadow and one AR shadow (U10 or U12)) before they can be
assigned to any CSC games.   This is training and referees are not paid for shadowing.
Use the above Referee Availability form to submit your availability to shadow.
- There are more than 20 new referees this season so it may take a few weeks for everyone to complete their shadow requirements.
- New referees are usually only assigned to U8 and U10 games for the first season so they can gain experience.
As your experience progresses you will be assigned to older games.
